Currently Designing at Bigword

Designing clarity for products, systems, and the people using them.

Helping teams make complex products feel intuitive.

WORKSPACE

Work Shaped Around Complexity

Different industries. Similar challenge. Turning complexity into products people can actually understand.

WORKSPACE 001 In Progress

WordSynk

Product Designer2025 — Present

Challenge

Modernizing a legacy enterprise platform serving governments, global businesses, and thousands of linguists without disrupting critical daily operations.

Contribution

Leading end-to-end product design across discovery, workflow redesign, accessibility improvements, and design system evolution for multiple user groups.

Outcome

An ongoing platform modernization focused on improving accessibility, consistency, and operational efficiency across customer and enterprise experiences.

WORKSPACE 002 Delivered

Path2Study

UI/UX Designer2024

Challenge

Students planning to study in the USA struggled to find trustworthy scholarship and education loan information across fragmented sources.

Contribution

Led the end-to-end product design across the student-facing website, profile flows, scholarship discovery experience, and internal admin portal.

Outcome

Created a scalable product foundation that simplified USA scholarship discovery, education loan exploration, application workflows, and internal platform management.

WORKSPACE 003 Completed

FactSeal

Associate UI/UX Designer2022

Challenge

The existing app only verified a candidate's current location, leaving the rest of the background screening process fragmented.

Contribution

Redesigned the mobile app, internal web portal, verification flows, logo, and app store assets into one connected product experience.

Outcome

Expanded the product into a complete verification platform covering identity, education, employment, references, documents, consent, and location checks.

PRODUCT TEARDOWNS

How I Think About Products

A small collection of product observations where I study familiar interfaces, identify hidden friction, and propose focused improvements.

Teardown 001

Windows 11

Observation

Windows 11 carries decades of user familiarity, but familiar systems can still create friction when old interaction patterns and newer behaviours sit side by side.

Insight

Users do not resist change itself. They resist losing predictability. When navigation, settings, and task entry points shift without enough contextual support, even small changes can feel heavier than they are.

Opportunity

Improve feature discovery through contextual entry points, clearer system feedback, and progressive guidance that respects existing user habits instead of forcing users to relearn familiar workflows.

APPROACH

What I Care About

I believe good products don't ask users to think harder — they remove unnecessary thinking altogether.

Whether I'm designing enterprise software, internal tools, or customer-facing products, I'm interested in reducing complexity before adding functionality. Every decision begins with understanding how people think, what slows them down, and how the experience can become more intuitive without becoming simplistic.

01

Systems Thinking

Every interface belongs to a larger ecosystem. I look at relationships between screens, workflows, states, and people before refining visuals.

02

Accessibility

Accessible design is not a compliance layer. It improves clarity, hierarchy, usability, and trust for everyone.

03

Clarity

The best products feel obvious. Behind that simplicity is structure, prioritization, and careful removal of unnecessary decisions.

04

Decision Clarity

Every unnecessary decision creates friction. I design to reduce choices, surface what matters, and help people move forward with confidence.

DESIGN PRINCIPLES

Principles I Don’t Compromise On

The rules I return to when complexity, constraints, and competing priorities demand a clearer decision.

01

Don’t Break What Already Works.

Existing behavior carries trust. Improve carefully before replacing familiar patterns.

02

Reduce Cognitive Load.

Users should spend energy on their goal, not on understanding the interface.

03

Build Systems, Not Screens.

A good screen solves one moment. A good system keeps the product coherent as it grows.

04

Reduce, Then Refine.

Remove unnecessary complexity before polishing the details that remain.

About

The hours that don't belong to work.

Outside of product design, I spend a lot of time observing people, writing fragments of thought, and noticing the small details that make experiences stay with us.

I'm fascinated by the psychology of decision-making—the invisible cues that make people hesitate, commit, trust, or turn away.

Design is one way I make sense of complexity. Writing is another.
